About MAC
The Malverne Afterschool Center (MAC) is a private, non-profit organization that provides school-aged children in the community of the Malverne School District. We operate both morning and after school programs in the Maurice W. Downing Primary School and Davison Ave. Intermediate School. We also run an after school program at the Howard T. Herber Middle School.
MAC operates in full compliance with the applicable statutes and regulations of the New York State Office of the Children and Family Services (NYSOCFS) which is rigorously renewed every year by meeting all licensing requirements for building, safety, health and infection, nutrition, supervision of children, staff training, management, and administration.

Our History
Our History
MAC was established in 1986 in cooperation with the Malverne School District to provide safe and affordable child care for the children of working parents residing in the district. MAC was incorporated on August 6, 1993 under section 402 of the not-for-profit corporation law of the State of New York. The two objectives of center are to provide after school programs for the children of the Malverne School District, and to provide adequate daily supervision of children during the after school period and mornings from 6:45 until start of school. MAC was approved in 1997 as a tax exempt organization under section 501 (c) 3 with public charity status 509 (a)(2).
